MARIBEL LOPEZ

I started at RakSa in August 2010 and my experience here has been nothing short of transformative. Coming from a very high stress work environment in New York City, the healing energy combined with the amazing people has completely transformed my lifestyle. I would have to say my favorite service is Acupuncture with Fernando Escobar. I have suffered from low blood flow and numbness in my left leg for over a year. The combination of his treatment and a Chinese herbal remedy has been the only thing that has offered me relief. To top it off, I leave feeling relaxed and energized each and every time. I also love attending yoga with Malachi Fridays at 10:30am and with Yvette at 10:30am on Wednesdays. They both push me beyond what I think I am capable of, which excites and motivates me. After class you'll often find me sipping a Healing juice from our café. A light and refreshing green juice, it fuels me for the rest of my day. Each day I strive to help our clients experience what I have come to find at RakSa, peace and balance.

KIM MARCHETTI

Emigrating from Vancouver, Canada in 2008, Kim used her multimedia training to start a business and do freelance photo and film editing before arriving at RakSa in February 2010 right after the doors first opened. "I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful place to work. I just love being in the space, seeing and meeting all kinds of interesting people that make living Los Angeles magical."

BERKELEY OCEGUERA

Art, in its many forms, has been a great influence all throughout my life. From doodling at home as a child to immersing myself in numerous art classes throughout high school, my love for it continues to grow. As a Fine Art major at Santa Monica College, I love being able to work somewhere that allows me to further explore my creativity in a way that benefits the community. To me, every juice I make and every plate of food I arrange is a work of art that I can share with others. Furthermore, I've recently found myself fascinated by healing in all its aspects: the mind, the body, and the soul and have taken upon myself a need to be familiar with various forms of healing. In that sense, I see RakSa as my opening to a world where I can learn, grow and further understand the importance of my wellbeing and that of others.

KATIE POPE

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Katie completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, where she received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Health Promotion. She wrote her senior thesis on ecstatic dance and its healing modalities with a research emphasis on the 5 Rhythms. Following graduation, she traveled to Brazil with fellow USC students to study Global Healing. Katie's experience there was transformative and solidified her decision to pursue a path in the health and wellness fields.

Katie comes from a family of travelers and alternative healing enthusiasts. She frequently attends mind-body workshops at the Esalen Institute in Big Sir, CA and received her level I certification in Reiki. Katie enjoys rock-climbing, yoga, and bodysurfing. Currently, she is studying to get her Personal Fitness Trainer certification with the American Council on Exercise.

Katie believes her personal journey in health and wellness has led her to RakSa. She is grateful to be a part of a team of people devoted to the healing of others and to share this sacred space with everyone that comes through our doors.

MIN YU

I was first introduced to RakSa as a yoga client. I loved the selection of yoga teachers that RakSa has to offer and the way they take the time to truly give instruction and help me improve my practice. I worked in a high stress work environment and it was always a pleasure to step into this calming space. Late last year, I decided to take some time off and consider a career change. The timing could not have been more perfect, as I soon found myself working at RakSa and getting to spend more time in this soothing place. I have had the opportunity to start exploring and will continue to explore all the wellness services that RakSa offers to help me on this journey of healing and finding a different path in life.
